目前在量測哈伯常數的其中一大問題是,天文學家無法精確了解遙遠星體的距離。而此問題有望由 NASA接下來數十年內計畫的大視場紅外巡天望遠鏡(Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope,WFIRST)解決。這種望遠鏡將能協助天文學家更精準量測遙遠星體的距離,WFIRST的解析度將會是哈伯望遠鏡的100倍。
